Store listing

Change your app's description, features, search terms and screenshots in every language, and add new languages.

    Open the listing

    Open your app and click Store listing. The languages of your listing are along the top.

    Edit the text

    Select a language and edit its fields. Each field counts characters as you type and flags anything the Store won't accept.

    Translate what's missing

    Choose a language under Translate from and click Translate missing. It fills only empty fields, so nothing you've written is overwritten.

    Save or send

    Click Save for next update to send the changes with your next package. Or click Send listing update to send them now, without a package.

Languages

Each language shows where it stands:

Live
Matches what's in the Store.
Edited
Has changes that aren't sent yet.
New
Added here, not in the Store yet.
Needs translation
Has empty fields.
Has problems
Has something the Store won't accept.

To add one, click Add a language, then Translate missing. The product name is copied from your package, not translated. A new language also needs a new set of screenshots.

Field limits

Product name
Up to 256 characters. Comes from your package.
Short description
Up to 1,000 characters. About 270 show before More.
Description
Up to 10,000 characters. Required.
Features
Up to 20, each up to 200 characters. The Store adds the bullets.
Search terms
Up to 7, each up to 40 characters, and 21 words in total. They aren't shown in the listing. Click Suggest terms for ideas in the selected language, then click the ones you want to add.

Screenshots

Drop PNGs anywhere on the page, or click Add a new set to choose them. One set goes to every language.

  • At least 1366 × 768, landscape or portrait, up to 4K.
  • Up to 10 screenshots, 50 MB each.
  • Captions are optional, up to 200 characters.

Each screenshot has a caption field under it for the selected language, so captions can differ per language. You can caption the screenshots that are already live without uploading them again. Translate missing fills in captions that are empty in other languages.

Use the arrows on a new screenshot to move it. Changed your mind? Click Keep the live ones to go back to the screenshots in the Store.

Notes for certification

Tell Microsoft's testers what they need, like a test account. The notes are kept on the app and sent with every submission, updates included.

Errors and warnings

Errors, like a missing description or a field over its limit, block sending until you fix them. Warnings, like pricing words in search terms, are worth a look but don't stop you.

To throw your changes away, click Discard. Notes for certification stay.
