Publish an update
Send a new version of your app to the Microsoft Store, with release notes in every language of your listing.
- 1
Drop in the package
Open your app on the dashboard and drag the .msix anywhere onto the page. Or click Publish an update and choose the file.
StoreFast checks the package name and version on your computer. When they look right, click Continue. The package uploads while you write the notes.
- 2
Write what's new
Write the notes in English. Your last notes show in the empty box as a starting point. Each language can have up to 1,500 characters.
Pasting a long changelog? Click Shorten for the Store to turn it into a short summary. Click Undo to get your text back.
- 3
Translate
Click Translate all. StoreFast writes the notes in every other language of your listing, in your app's writing style. Select a language to read or edit it.
If you change the English afterward, click Translate all again. Any language you don't translate gets the English.
- 4
Submit for review
Click Submit for review. StoreFast sends the package and notes to Partner Center and submits them for certification.
Hold until I publish
Turn on Hold until I publish before you submit. Microsoft certifies the update and then waits. Your app's page shows Waiting for you with a link to Partner Center, where you click Publish now when you're ready.
With it off, the update keeps the publish setting your last submission had. If you held the last one, this one is held too. You can change it in Partner Center under Submission options.
Track certification
Your app's page shows where the update is: Submitted, In certification, Publishing and Live. Microsoft's review usually takes a few hours to a day.
If certification fails, the page shows the errors Partner Center reported. You can publish the next update once the current one is live.
Finish or discard an update
Nothing reaches Partner Center until you submit. If you close the window before that, the update waits on your app's page.
- To pick it up, click Continue with the version number. Your notes are still there.
- To start over, click Discard. If the upload stopped partway, discard it and choose the package again.
Updates started from the API or a coding agent show up here the same way.
Change how the notes read
Open your app and click Settings. Under Release notes, pick plain sentences, dashes or Markdown. Writing style describes your app's tone. StoreFast learns it from your live listing, and you can edit it there.
