Debug configuration test failed
The Windows App Certification Kit reports this under the debug configuration test. A debug build can also fail the supported API test.
What it means
Store apps must not be compiled for debug or reference debug versions of a framework, and the code must be built optimized. Microsoft notes that a debug build fails the supported API test too, even if it only calls allowed APIs.
How to fix it
- Switch the build configuration to Release and build the package again.
- Check that nothing in the package links to debug versions of a framework or runtime, like debug C++ runtime DLLs or a debug build of a library you ship.
- If the app has .NET components, make sure the right version of the .NET framework is installed on the build machine.
- Run the kit on the release package before you upload it.
